Join me on my blog
The blog is a space for me to share topical thoughts and feelings with you - Expect anything from the trials and tribulations in the workshop, to new trends and inspirations in the jewellery trade.
This is a very new feature, so while I'm getting to grips with it, why not tell me what you'd like me to cover?

What's in a Hallmark?
We all look for the mark on our jewellery, but what does it actually mean?
The hallmark is a set of component marks applied to precious metals. They show that the item has been independently tested and guarantees that it meets the legal standard of purity.
As well as providing peace of mind to consumers, the hallmark gives provenance to jewellery, stating not only what metal the item is made from, but where it was hallmarked and by who it was submitted.
Discover how to read the Hallmark and learn more about the UK Hallmarking Act 1973
