Inspired by silversmith jewellery and folk floral motifs, this distinctive Sterling Silver pendant showcases a stunning rose cut Black Spinel stone set within an ornate, stamped silver setting.

Metal stamping is a relatively new technique for me, and I longed to incorporate some stamped motifs in my work.  Inspired by the bold shapes of folk floral designs, I decided to create a collection of floral jewellery designs using stamped silver.  This pendant is made up of three stamped motifs arranged around a round Black Spinel stone, forming an attractive shield shape, similar to a pansy.

Each petal of the silver pansy has been stamped deeply, leaving a crisp edge in the silver. The bold pattern on each section is oxidised to enhance this, framing the Black Spinel beautifully, and adding a touch of an art deco or gothic look to the finished piece.

The beautiful facets of the rose cut Black Spinel add the perfect hint of sparkle to the pendant. Sitting at the centre of the pansy, the 10mm round stone sits proud of the metal with an elevation of 5mm from the surface of the pendant.

  • I like to add hidden interest to my jewellery where I can, and the back of this pendant is no exception.  The back of the setting has been textured with a leaf, and the surrounding silver has been polished to a high shine, with the hallmark of the London Assay Office neatly displayed on the bottom section.

The hallmark assures you of the metal finesse and contains information such as when and by who the jewellery was made, including my unique makers mark.

Mounted on an 18” sterling silver oval belcher chain.  This can be adjusted to 16” by an additional ring within the chain.

Fastened by a bolt ring clasp, and tipped with a faceted black bead.

    Pendant Height: 23mm

    Pendant Width: 19.5
